The Canon EOS-1D X Mark II was announced in February 2016, now this camera is nearly 3 years old. According to CR, a new version of this camera 1D X Mark III is rumored to be announced in late 2019. As Nikon D6, Canon EOS-1D X Mark III will be released before Tokoyo 2020.
Canon currently is focus on EOS R full frame mirrorless cameras, but the source said that full frame mirrorless isn’t yet advanced enough to take over the duties of the EOS-1D line in Canon’s eyes. Canon is also rumored to announced 5D Mark IV successor EOS 5D Mark V in 2020.
Currently, there is no specs rumors on 1D X Mark III, source said that it will have a new version of DPAF and other sensor technology.
