According to latest rumors, the upcoming Canon EOS-R1 (mirrorless version EOS-1D X Mark III) flagship full frame mirrorless camera will be officially released in the second half of 2021. The EOS-R1 will be an “upgrade” from current EOS-1D X Mark III, and EOS-R1 may feature with global shutter image sensor. You can take a look at rumored features below:
Canon has already released the EOS R5 and EOS R6 several months ago, next Canon is rumored to announce the flagship mirrorless version of EOS-1D X III – the EOS-R1. Canon EOS-R1 is expected to be announced in the second half of 2021. Along with two “Big White” RF mount super telephoto prime lenses.
As Sony is rumored to announce a new flagship/high-end mirrorless body in 2021, it seems that Canon will also release a new mirrorless version of EOS-1D X Mark III in 2021, the name of this flagship mirrorless body could be named Canon EOS-R1.
