First Canon Full Frame Mirrorless Camera is named Canon EOS R (Buy at B&H Photo Video/Amazon/Adorama/Focus Camera/WEX/ParkCamera) (30.3MP, DPAF, 4K Video, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth), officially announced on September 5th. Second Canon full frame mirrorless camera is already in testing, it will have a 26MP full frame sensor, to be released within 1 year.
The Canon EOS 5DS & 5DS R are already 3 years old now, there are already rumors on next version 5DS/R Mark II. But according to latest rumors on CR, The Canon EOS 5DS and 5DS R maybe replaced by a high megapixel full frame EOS R mirrorless camera.
Here is an updated rumors for the second Canon full frame mirrorless camera. The rumored name is “Canon EOS R Pro”. It will receive a development announcement in January 2019. While official launch will be in a later date, maybe ahead of CP+ Show in February.
Canon USA just uploaded a new movie called “EOS R Documentary: Walking The Rift”. Cinematographer Hiro Matsuzaki as he documents his experience using Canon’s new EOS R system while venturing out on foot in Lake Natron, to capture the rift valley’s environmental beauty. The whole movie above are shot by Canon EOS R and RF lenses.
