According to latest rumors from CR, A brand new APS-C CMOS sensor from Canon is on the way, this new APS-C sensor rumored to be 32.5 Megapixel.
Canon may use this new sensor on the upcoming DSLR cameras (90D & 7D Mark III ?)and EOS M mirrorless cameras. Currently, Canon has several new cameras in testing that with brand new 24MP sensor.
This rumor is rated at CR1, so take it with a grain of salt.
