The Canon EOS R3 is expected to be officially announced in September 2021. According to latest rumors, Canon EOS R3‘s new 24MP image sensor will have much faster readout than current EOS R5 and EOS R6. It will not experience any issues with blackout or lag that in EOS R5 and EOS R6.
Just after last post rumored Canon EOS R3 may have a 24MP full frame sensor, a user at CR forum has just posted the EXIF data of Canon EOS R3 at Tokyo 2020 Olympics games. The EXIF data shows an image size of 6000×4000 pixels, which puts EOS R3 at 24mp.
According to Petapixel, Canon told them that the image sensor of Canon EOS R3 is designed and made by Canon, not previous rumored made by Sony. Canon EOS R3 is expected to be released in later this year.
