According to latest rumors, Canon is rumored to announce a new RF mount telephoto zoom lens RF 70-135mm f/2L USM Lens at the end of this year. This lens has been testing by a very small group of photographers and videographers.
After Canon released the new RF 28-70mm f/2L USM lens for Canon full frame mirrorless cameras, there are rumors that Canon will release a “holy trinity” of RF mount f/2L zoom lenses. According to latest rumors, next f/2L zoom lens will be Canon RF 14-28mm f/2L USM lens. And the telephoto zoom f/2L lens will be RF 70-135mm f/2L USM lens.
During the Canon EOS R5 development announcement, Canon also announced that there will be a total of 9 RF lenses coming in 2020, including already announced RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM Lens (B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon), RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM lens, Extender RF 1.4x, Extender RF 2x. So what are rest of 5 new RF lenses ? According to CR, below are rumored 5 new RF lenses coming in 2020:
Canon has already announced 4 RF lenses now: They are RF 28-70mm f/2L, RF 24-105mm f/4L IS, RF 50mm f/1.2L, RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM. And there are already two RF lens patents: RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS, RF 24-300mm f/4-5.6L IS. Canon already mentioned in their announcement video that they are working on “a series of fast f/2.8 lenses and more”. Which means we may see these new f/2.8 zoom lenses in 2019 to 2020.
