According to CR, a new RF mount lens roadmap for Canon full frame mirrorless cameras seems leaked online. Along with soon to be announced RF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM lens and RF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens, there will be a total 14 new RF lenses coming in 2021, including “ground-breaking” TS-R autofocus tilt-shift lenses for the RF mount.
According to latest rumors on CR, Canon will announce a total of 5 new EF-M lenses for Canon EOS M APS-C mirrorless cameras in next 24 months.
During the Canon EOS R5 development announcement, Canon also announced that there will be a total of 9 RF lenses coming in 2020, including already announced RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM Lens (B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon), RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM lens, Extender RF 1.4x, Extender RF 2x. According to recently rumors on CR, a loose Canon RF mount lens roadmap for 2020 has been shown to select photographers, and the plan is to release between 6 to 8 new RF mount lenses in 2020.
Canon has already announced 4 RF lenses now: They are RF 28-70mm f/2L, RF 24-105mm f/4L IS, RF 50mm f/1.2L, RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM. And there are already two RF lens patents: RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS, RF 24-300mm f/4-5.6L IS. Canon already mentioned in their announcement video that they are working on “a series of fast f/2.8 lenses and more”. Which means we may see these new f/2.8 zoom lenses in 2019 to 2020.
