Updated Roadmap of Canon Cameras & Lenses in 2017

After the announcement of new Canon EOS 77D, T7i, M6, there are still more cameras and lenses coming in 2017. Here is the updated roadmap of Canon cameras and lenses.

DSLR cameras to be Announced in 2017:
  • Canon EOS 6D Mark II: A full frame DSLR camera from Canon, it will be replace current EOS 6D. It will be announced in late Spring to early Summer. It will have a new 24-28MP full frame sensor, 45 AF points, 4K video, 6fps… See full rumored specs list.
  • Canon EOS Rebel SL2: World’s smallest DSLR camera to replace current EOS Rebel SL1, it will have similar specs as EOS Rebel T7i.
Lenses to be Announced in 2017:
  • EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM: A full frame EF lens to be announced in Q3 of 2017.
  • EF-S 1xmm f/2.8 IS STM: An APS-C camera wide-angle prime lens to be announced April 05, 2017. This lens will have a unique feature.
  • EF 135mm Lens: A new 135mm lens is rumored to be announced in late 2017.
Cinema EOS Cameras to be Announced in 2017
  • Canon Cinema EOS CXXX Camera: A new cinema eos camera under C300 Mark II, and it will not be named C100 Mark III, won’t be ready for NAB next month, so we expect a Q3 or Q4 announcement.
  • Canon Cinema EOS Lenses: At least one prime lens to be announced next month at NAB 2017. More lenses will coming in 2017.
Products not to be announced in 2017:
  • EF 600mm f/4 DO IS: This lens could be announced at Photokina 2018.
  • EF 200-600mm f/4.5-5.6 IS USM: Maybe coming in early 2018.
  • EF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM: There is no time schedule for release of this lens.
  • Canon EOS-1D C Mark II: It’s not coming this year, and we don’t think it ever will.
  • Canon EOS 5DS & 5DS R Mark II: In sometime of 2018.
